Coeur d’Alene Regenerative Medicine believes in using the patient’s own tissue to help the body repair and restore. The use of the patients’ own cells promotes a healing environment to help repair, reconstruct, replace damaged or injured tissue.

The patients’ own fat-derived cells are harvested during an in-office procedure. Treatment is relativity painless and take about 30 minutes to an hour to perform. In some cases, adipose tissue (fat) will be harvested in the operating room in conjunction with a surgical procedure.

All procedures are performed by Joanne Halbrecht, MD, board-certified orthopedic surgeon with over 25 years of experience or Jeffrey Larson, MD, board-certified neurosurgeon with over 25 years of experience.

What is Lipogems?

LIPOGEMS is 510(k) FDA-Cleared device that gently processes a patient’s own fat tissue and can be delivered to multiple areas of the body to promote healing. The FDA approved LIPOGEMS for widespread use in November of 2016.

The LIPOGEMS procedure rinses and cleans inflammatory oils and blood from the harvested fat while keeping the natural and beneficial properties of the fat tissue. The cleansed fat is then injected into the injured site. The fat tends to remain in the area where it is injected instead of being immediately reabsorbed by the body, allowing the body to maximize the benefits of the injection for an extended period of time.

LIPOGEMS is ideal for patients that have a musculoskeletal condition, unable to get major, invasive surgery, would like another option to major, invasive surgery, or would like to be used in conjunction with their surgery.

Microfragmented adipose tissue processed by the LIPOGEMS System is used to provide cushion and support to help the natural healing process by supporting the repair, replacement, reconstruction of damaged or injured tissue.

The LIPOGEMS minimally invasive procedure is performed in a physicians’ office or a surgical setting and can be completed in less than an hour.
